The Leofoto GC-282C Geared center column can be used as a detachable center column that you place on the tripod plate of a tripod with 3/8-inch thread. A geared center column is eminently useful when you want to adjust the height with exact precision. Accurate adjustment with a normal center column can sometimes be difficult if you have a heavy camera mounted on the ballhead. The extra fixed length of the center column is 215mm and the GC-282C's turning crank allows you to adjust the height to a maximum of 325mm.
